How do you use the launch control on a Chevrolet Corvette C8 E-Ray?

Using launch control on the C8 E-Ray is a straightforward process, but getting the best result requires the right setup. The E-Ray shares its core launch control logic with the rest of the C8 lineup, with a few hybrid-specific considerations.

Prerequisites:

• Ensure the vehicle is past its factory break-in period ⁹.
• For maximum performance in the E-Ray, get the hybrid battery to a 100% charge beforehand. You can force the car to aggressively charge the battery by driving it in Track mode ¹⁰.
• Make sure your tires have some heat in them and ensure your steering wheel is pointed dead straight ⁷.

Standard Launch Procedure:

1. Put the transmission in Drive.
2. Turn the mode selector to Sport or Track mode.
3. Double-press the Traction Control (ESC) button. The dash should display that you have entered Competitive Driving Mode or bring up the Performance Traction Management (PTM) menu ⁶.
