Where the questions come from
Every question in GarageBot's Q&A library started as a real question asked by a real owner on an enthusiast forum for that vehicle. Questions are selected by popularity — how many other owners viewed the same thread — so the library reflects what people actually search for, not what we guess they might ask. Threads that aren't genuine questions (classifieds, build logs, meet-up announcements, and the like) are filtered out before anything is answered.
How the answers are generated
Answers are written by GarageBot's AI, not by a human staff writer. GarageBot uses retrieval-augmented generation: for each question, it retrieves the most relevant real discussions from a corpus of scraped enthusiast-forum content for that vehicle, then generates an answer grounded in what those threads actually say. It's the same underlying AI available when you chat with GarageBot directly at app.garagebot.ai.
Every answer is cited
At the bottom of each answer, under "Discussed on the forums," you'll find links to the original forum threads GarageBot drew from to write that answer. Those citations let you go read the primary source and the full owner discussion yourself, rather than taking the summary on faith.
Verify before you wrench
These answers are AI-generated from forum discussions, not from a factory service manual, and they can be incomplete or wrong. Always verify torque specs and any other safety-critical procedure against your factory service manual before doing the work. If you spot an error or something that needs correcting, email us at [email protected]. For more on GarageBot itself, see About GarageBot.
